Pistons face challenges in pursuing Kevin Durant trade this summer

Summary

The Detroit Pistons are reportedly interested in acquiring Kevin Durant as they aim to build around Cade Cunningham. Insider reports indicate that while the Pistons have discussed a potential trade internally, significant doubts remain regarding the feasibility of a three-team deal involving the Houston Rockets and Boston Celtics. The Rockets, having made roster moves to bolster their contention window, appear less inclined to part with Durant, despite previous trade speculation fueled by team chemistry issues. The Pistons have cleared salary cap space this offseason, positioning themselves to pursue a blockbuster deal if the opportunity arises.
