Pitt defense holds off UCF in 12-7 home victory

Pitt defeated UCF 12-7 on Saturday night in a game marked by heavy rain and defensive dominance. The Panthers limited the Knights to 206 total yards and 20 rushing yards on 22 attempts throughout the contest. UCF failed to score until the final three minutes of play and struggled to move the chains, finishing 4-for-13 on third down. On offense, Pitt started true freshman Damon Ferguson Jr. in place of sophomore Ja’Kyrian “Boosie” Turner, who was held out as a game-time decision.
