Pitt volleyball players earn ACC honors after strong opening weekend

VolleyballThree players from the University of Pittsburgh volleyball team received Atlantic Coast Conference weekly awards following a successful start to the season. Olivia Babcock was named offensive player of the week, Izzy Starck earned setter of the week honors, and Ayanna Watson was recognized as freshman of the week. Pitt, currently ranked No. 4 in the country, won both matches at the AVCA First Serve in Milwaukee, defeating No. 3 Kentucky and sweeping Xavier. The Panthers will host the Opening Spike Classic at the Petersen Events Center this week, welcoming teams including No. 5 Stanford and No. 6 Wisconsin.
