Pittsburg State has been ranked No. 4 in the AFCA Preseason Top 25 Poll announced on August 18, 2026. This marks the fourth consecutive year the Gorillas have secured a top-10 preseason rank, previously earning a share of last season’s MIAA title with Northwest Missouri State. The Gorillas will begin their season against Ferris State, the top-ranked team and defending national champion, on August 27 at home.
