Pittsburgh Penguins announce training camp schedule for the upcoming season

The Pittsburgh Penguins will begin their 2026 training camp on Thursday, September 17. The team released a schedule featuring group practices, which are free and open to the public, through late September. Players will undergo several group sessions before the first preseason game against Buffalo on September 21. Following the opener, the team plays additional preseason contests against Detroit, Columbus, and Buffalo. The camp concludes before the regular season begins on September 30 in Philadelphia. Most players have already been working at the facility for several weeks. According to the team, the roster will be trimmed relatively quickly during the second week of camp, following NHL Collective Bargaining Agreement rules that limit veteran participation in preseason exhibitions to two games per player.
