Pittsburgh Pirates adjust roster for September by adding Eisert and Bethancourt

The Pittsburgh Pirates made two roster changes on September 2 as the team entered the final month of the regular season. The club recalled left-handed pitcher Brandon Eisert from Triple-A Indianapolis and selected the contract of catcher Christian Bethancourt. To accommodate the additions on the 40-man roster, the team transferred catcher Endy Rodriguez from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list. Rodriguez is sidelined for the remainder of the season with a left hip injury. These moves reflect the expanded 28-man roster allowed for September. The additions provide the bullpen with an extra arm and offer depth at catcher for the remainder of the season.
