The Pittsburgh Pirates secured a 13-12 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night at PNC Park. Pittsburgh established an early lead, scoring nine runs in the third inning, but San Francisco erased a five-run deficit in the eighth to tie the score at 12-12. The game concluded in the bottom of the ninth when an error by Osleivis Basabe allowed the winning run to score. Brandon Lowe led the Pirates' offense by going 4 for 6 with a home run and three runs scored. Mason Montgomery earned the win for Pittsburgh, while Carson Seymour took the loss for San Francisco. The two teams are scheduled to meet again on Wednesday with Bubba Chandler starting for the Pirates and Landen Roupp for the Giants.
