Pittsburgh Steelers sign wide receiver Brandon Johnson to practice squad

The Pittsburgh Steelers signed wide receiver Brandon Johnson to the team's practice squad on September 1, 2026. This move marks the fourth time the organization has brought Johnson back to the roster. Johnson originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Denver Broncos in 2022 and first joined the Steelers in August 2024. Following a stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2025 and a return to the Broncos, he most recently participated in an offseason program with Pittsburgh before being released in June. He spent the remainder of the preseason with the Las Vegas Raiders until his release during final roster cuts. The Steelers also signed defensive back Car'lin Vigers and outside linebacker Bradyn Swinson to the practice squad alongside Johnson.
