Police charge three youth football coaches following fight at Honus Wagner Field

Carnegie police have charged three youth football coaches following an altercation during a game between Carlynton and Keystone Oaks on August 29. The incident occurred at Honus Wagner Field, where witnesses captured video of the conflict on mobile devices. According to Carnegie Chief of Police Jeffrey L. Kennedy, the Carlynton head coach allegedly initiated the fight and threw punches, while two Keystone Oaks coaches also participated in the physical confrontation. By the time law enforcement officials arrived at the venue, the altercation had ceased and participants were leaving the premises. Dequay Canton, the Carlynton Little Cougars head coach, alleged in a statement that players used racial slurs and another coach initiated the physical contact. The Steel City Youth Football League has suspended two coaches indefinitely, and both teams have suspended five total coaches while investigations proceed.
