The Bayview Mackinac Race begins on July 18, with 201 boats registered to participate in the journey from Port Huron to Mackinac Island. Jon Somes will serve as the signal boat captain on his 54-foot powerboat, overseeing the start of the race. The event is known as the world’s longest continuously run long distance freshwater yacht race and has been held annually since 1925.
