Portsmouth High celebrates 50th reunion of 1976 undefeated champs

On October 28, Portsmouth High School honored its 1976 undefeated football team during the homecoming game against Concord Crimson Tide. More than a dozen former players reunited to reflect on their championship season and the bonds forged through their shared experiences. The 1976 team, clad in white and gold, remains the only Portsmouth team to finish a season undefeated. The reunion included a gathering before the game, where former players exchanged stories and memories while the current players took the field. Peter Price, a captain from the championship team, spoke to the players, emphasizing the legacy of their predecessors.
