Cardiff head coach Brian Barry-Murphy reported that his defender, Krystian Bielik, was struck in the face while attempting to retrieve a ball from the stands. Social media footage also appeared to show Bielik grabbing a fan during the altercation. In a separate incident following the initial dispute, a ball was thrown at Cardiff defender Perry Ng. Both fans involved were ejected from the stadium. Barry-Murphy praised the officials for their management of the situation and confirmed the matter will be reviewed by the club and the Football Association.
