Portsmouth West defeats Huntington 28-7 in non-league football

Portsmouth West moved to 3-0 on the season following a 28-7 victory over Huntington on Friday night. The Senators relied on a strong rushing attack from Anthony Bishop and Westyn Ratcliff, who combined for 366 yards and four touchdowns. Huntington trailed 14-7 at halftime after Frankie Hirsch connected with Junior McDonald for a 30-yard score. The Huntsmen struggled to stop the Portsmouth West running game throughout the second half, leading to two additional touchdowns for the visitors. Huntington head coach Clay Beeler cited poor tackling and first-half penalties as primary factors in the loss. Huntington now shifts its focus to a matchup against the undefeated Zane Trace program scheduled for September 11.
