Portsmouth head coach John Mousinho announced that winger Josh Murphy is unlikely to be fit for the start of the season. Murphy has been sidelined since April after undergoing groin surgery and is dealing with ongoing minor issues. He may not return to full training until the end of August, ruling him out of the Carabao Cup First Round against West Ham and the initial Championship matches against QPR and Lincoln City. His participation in upcoming fixtures against Bristol City and Derby could also be in doubt.
