Preston Stout claims NCAA title after tense showdown at championship

At the NCAA Men’s National Championship on June 1, Oklahoma State junior Preston Stout secured his eighth college victory in a dramatic final round. Stout shot three-under 69 to finish at 14 under par, narrowly edging out Alabama sophomore William Jennings, who also shot 69 but missed a crucial putt on the 18th hole. Stout built an early lead with five birdies but lost ground on the back nine. He became the first Oklahoma State player to win the individual title since Matthew Wolff in 2019. Following the victory, Stout celebrated with teammates who learned of his win while he practiced on the driving range.
