Preston Stout wins McCormack Medal, secures major championship spots

Preston Stout, a rising senior at Oklahoma State, won the 2026 McCormack Medal, awarded to the top-ranked amateur golfer. Stout’s achievement guarantees him spots in the U.S. Open and Open Championship in 2027, in addition to his already secured entry into the Masters. During his junior season, he won five tournaments, including the NCAA individual championship and his third consecutive Big 12 individual title. Stout also leads the PGA Tour University Preseason Rankings for the Class of 2027. He is set to represent the U.S. at the Walker Cup in Ireland next month.
