Pro Football Focus grades Texans rookie tight end Marlin Klein highest

Houston Texans tight end Marlin Klein earned the highest preseason grade for a rookie at his position from Pro Football Focus. The rookie finished his first NFL exhibition schedule with a 75.8 overall ranking. Klein initially faced criticism regarding his draft status due to limited collegiate usage, but he emerged as a consistent performer throughout camp. The tight end recorded a 31-yard reception against the Los Angeles Chargers and proved effective as a run blocker in subsequent appearances. Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans noted that while the team is challenging the rookie with a complex playbook, he has responded with steady progress. Klein is currently competing for the No. 2 tight end role behind starter Dalton Schultz. The Texans prepare for their regular season opener against the Buffalo Bills at Reliant Stadium on September 13.
