Pro Football Hall of Fame reduces voter panel to 28 members

The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced a major change to its selection process, cutting the panel of voters from 50 to 28. This decision follows the unexpected failure of Bill Belichick to be enshrined in his first year of eligibility. The new group of voters will include 25 voting members and three non-voting participants, with the names of the new voters to be disclosed soon. Among the 19 voters removed are Paul Kuharsky, Frank Cooney, and Tony Dungy, who collectively contributed 280 years of experience. Some returning voters include Charean Williams and Jim Trotter. The Hall of Fame is yet to explain how the reduction will enhance the selection process for future enshrinements.
