Proud Sky Blues' group supports LGBTQ+ fans in football

Matthew Loveitt, a Coventry supporter, co-founded the Proud Sky Blues group in 2023 to provide a welcoming space for LGBTQ+ fans. Following his experience of being removed from his Sunday league team after coming out, Loveitt sought to create a community where everyone feels safe. The group has grown to over 100 members and will host pre-match events, with the next gathering scheduled at The Anecdote pub on August 29 before the Hull City game. Loveitt emphasizes the need for safe spaces in football and more education on the effects of discrimination.
