Pulaski County and Somerset soccer teams secure district wins

SoccerPulaski County defeated Southwestern 4-0 in boys' soccer Saturday, moving to a 7-0-1 season record behind a pair of goals from Jay Venters. In other boys' action, the Somerset Briar Jumpers concluded their Scotties Classic campaign with an 8-0 victory over Logan County. On the girls' side, the Somerset Lady Jumpers ended a four-game losing streak by beating Clinton County 8-0. The Pulaski County Lady Maroons secured two victories on Monday, defeating Rockcastle County 7-0 and Casey County 6-0. Southwestern Lady Warriors also claimed an 8-0 win against McCreary Central, maintaining their undefeated record in 48th District play. The Lady Warriors fell 3-2 to East Jessamine in volleyball, while the Somerset Christian Lady Cougars edged McCreary Central 3-2 in district volleyball play. Various teams across the region now prepare for district-level matchups scheduled for this Thursday.
