PWHL Detroit signs forward Shiann Darkangelo for inaugural season

Brighton native Shiann Darkangelo is returning to her hometown to join PWHL Detroit for the upcoming inaugural season. A three-year PWHL veteran, Darkangelo arrives in Detroit through the league's expansion signing process after playing for the Montréal Victoire last season. She recorded eight points and a career-high 213 faceoff wins during the 2025-26 season, helping Montreal secure the Walter Cup title. The forward participated in a community meet and greet in Brighton on September 6, 2026, to engage with young hockey players. PWHL Detroit is scheduled to open its first training camp on November 18, 2026, with game action slated to begin within two weeks of that date. Players will wear Detroit-branded jerseys for the first year of league operations.
