Quarterback Joe Milton III becomes a free agent after clearing NFL waivers

Joe Milton III is now a free agent after passing through the NFL waiver system without being claimed by another team. The Dallas Cowboys waived the quarterback on Monday, one day after he initially survived the team's roster cuts. Although the team demoted Milton to the third-string position behind Sam Howell this season, head coach Brian Schottenheimer stated the organization is interested in bringing him back to their practice squad. Milton spent the previous year as the primary backup to Dak Prescott while undergoing development within the Dallas coaching system. He is now eligible to sign with any team across the league. It remains unclear whether Milton will return to the Cowboys or pursue an opportunity for a larger role with a different organization.
