Questions arise over Cristiano Ronaldo's role for Portugal against Spain
Summary

As Portugal prepares to face Spain in the World Cup Round of 16, discussions about Cristiano Ronaldo's potential role have intensified. Critics are questioning whether the veteran forward should start after a mixed showing, where he scored twice against Uzbekistan but struggled to create chances. At 41, Ronaldo has not scored from open play in knockout matches across six World Cups, raising doubts about his effectiveness as Portugal aims to advance. Options discussed include reducing his minutes in favor of fresh legs as the team seeks a crucial victory.
