Railways select Brabourne Stadium as home venue for Ranji Trophy season

Railways will host three home matches at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai during the 2026-27 Ranji Trophy season. The team, which previously utilized Karnail Singh Stadium in New Delhi, is placed in Elite Group D for the upcoming campaign. The venue will host the season-opening match against Uttarakhand from Oct 11-14, followed by a fixture against Mumbai from Nov 2-5 and a match against Haryana from Jan 17-20. This marks the return of first-class cricket to the historic stadium for the first time in over three years. To prepare for the domestic schedule and future ICC events, the Cricket Club of India is currently installing new floodlights with a target completion date between Oct 10-15. The facility previously hosted 16 Ranji Trophy finals, maintaining a long-standing association with the domestic tournament.
