Rain halts Montreal Masters quarter-finals; matches rescheduled for Tuesday

Summary

Rain and lightning threats resulted in the postponement of the first two quarter-finals at the ATP Montreal Masters on August 11. The matches featuring Rafael Jodar against Arthur Fils and Luciano Darderi facing Brandon Nakashima were pushed to August 12. This situation has drawn criticism due to the lengthy format of the tournament, which lasts almost as long as a Grand Slam. Other quarter-finals involve defending champion Ben Shelton against Jakub Mensik and Daniel Merida playing Learner Tien, also slated for August 12. The event is set to conclude on August 13, conflicting with the start of the Cincinnati Masters.
