Raja Jackson released after 90 days for assaulting Syko Stu

Raja Jackson is taken into custody in a California courtroom Thursday, July 2, 2026 (Christina House / Los Angeles Times via Getty Images) It was a little more than a year ago that an appearance by aspiring MMA pro Raja Jackson, son of MMA legend Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, at an independent wrestling show in Los Angeles went horribly awry. Even though Raja Jackson was livestreaming his entire night at KNOKX Pro Wrestling’s show on Aug. 23, 2025, there are still varying reports on what exactly happened. What we saw on film included a confrontation between Jackson and Stu (real name Stuart Smith) outside the venue prior to the show, and Stu hitting Jackson with a beer can thinking he was another pro wrestler. We soon saw Stu apologize, the two men shake hands, while others talked about turning the incident into an angle for the show. Similar vague conversations happened backstage, and finally Jackson did commentary during Stu’s match saying he was told he could hit Stu “for real”. He then rushed the ring, slammed an unsuspecting Stu to the mat, and landed numerous punches to Stu’s head after he appeared to have been knocked out by the slam. Many takes followed, from Rampage Jackson and others. Raja was arrested and charged, saying he was not guilty. The 26-year-old eventually made a deal with LA prosecutors in which he pleaded no contest to one felony count of battery with serious bodily injury, and guilty to another felony count personal infliction of great bodily injury and engaging in violent conduct in exchange for a 90-day jail sentence, two years of probation, and $81,703.38 in restitution to Smith. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Raja Jackson was released from jail by The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department yesterday (Sept. 29), indicating that he’s served his 90 days. Johnson says that Smith was scheduled to speak at the release hearing, but there’s been no follow-up confirmation that occurred. Per the LA Times, when the court formalized Jackson’s plea deal in July, Smith appear to say he didn’t hate his assailant, and “holds no grudges” against Raja Jackson or anyone at KNOKX Pro. Stu has made a few appearances, but his in-ring career is likely over due to the injuries suffered at Jackson’s hands last August.
