Rams adjust backup QB plan with Stetson Bennett and Ty Simpson

The Los Angeles Rams are maintaining a flexible approach for the backup quarterback position as training camp progresses. Stetson Bennett started with the first-team offense while Ty Simpson worked with the backups. Head coach Sean McVay indicated he does not want to limit evaluations to one predetermined plan as the Rams assess both players. Bennett received the majority of second-team reps on a day when Matthew Stafford was off, and McVay stated the competition will ultimately shape roster decisions. The evaluation process will continue throughout training camp and preseason games.
