Rams considered acquiring Maxx Crosby before landing Myles Garrett

According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the Rams initiated calls regarding Crosby while evaluating multiple defensive options throughout the spring. The interest in Crosby follows a pattern of unsuccessful attempts by the Los Angeles front office to secure the edge rusher, including a similar pursuit in 2022 that also involved Carolina player Brian Burns. Crosby was briefly part of a potential trade to the Baltimore Ravens this March, but that transaction failed when he did not pass a physical examination related to a previously repaired knee. With Garrett now established as a primary defensive asset in Los Angeles, further pursuit of Crosby appears unlikely.
