Rams WR3 role remains unsettled ahead of 2026 season

Summary

The Los Angeles Rams are facing uncertainty for their WR3 position as they approach the 2026 NFL season. With Puka Nacua and Davante Adams set as the top two receivers, a committee of players including Konata Mumpfield, Jordan Whittington, and Xavier Smith is competing for the third spot. Each candidate's previous season performances indicate that none have statistically distinguished themselves. Rookie CJ Daniels is also in contention. The team did not pursue major receivers in the offseason, suggesting they may prioritize specialized roles rather than a dedicated WR3. The tight end position could additionally provide pass-catching options alongside the receivers.
