Rangers activate RHP Jakob Junis from injured list against Athletics

The Texas Rangers activated right-handed pitcher Jakob Junis from the injured list on August 16, 2026, prior to their game against the Athletics. Junis had been sidelined since July 30 due to an adductor strain, in addition to a previous hip impingement. Rangers manager Skip Schumaker confirmed Junis is ready to compete following a successful bullpen session. The activation comes as the Rangers' bullpen has struggled with a 5.56 ERA since the All-Star break, compelling the team to rely on several rookie relievers. Marco Gonzales was designated for assignment to make room for Junis in the bullpen.
