Rangers designate Jarred Kelenic for assignment after brief stint
Summary

The Texas Rangers designated outfielder Jarred Kelenic for assignment on June 29, 2026, following a disappointing performance. Kelenic logged only seven games with the Rangers, hitting one single with five strikeouts in ten at-bats. This decision comes after the Rangers signed right-hander Chris Paddack and promoted infielder/outfielder Cameron Cauley from Triple-A. Kelenic was a first-round pick and once a highly regarded prospect with the Seattle Mariners but has struggled to maintain an OPS above.746 in his career, including a.679 OPS during his time with the Atlanta Braves in 2024.
