Rangers lost 2-1 to Jagiellonia Bialystok in the Europa League qualifying first leg held in Poland on August 6. Manager Derek McInnes expressed disappointment over the team's defensive lapses, which he believes continue from last season. Rangers failed to capitalize on their chances and struggled with concentration throughout the match, leaving McInnes seeking improvements ahead of the second leg. The performance prompted McInnes to emphasize the need for stricter defensive measures from his players.
