Rangers outright pitcher Michel Otanez to AAA Round Rock

The Texas Rangers have outrighted pitcher Michel Otanez to AAA Round Rock, as announced on June 19, 2026. Otanez, who was designated for assignment last week to make room for Joe Ross on the active roster, has cleared waivers. He originally joined the Rangers after being claimed off waivers at the end of last season. This year, Otanez has appeared in 25 games for Round Rock, recording a 6.15 ERA with 37 strikeouts and 25 walks over 26.1 innings. He will remain with the Express unless added back to the Rangers' 40-man roster by season's end, after which he will become a free agent.
