Rangers place Cole Winn and Peyton Gray on injured list

The Texas Rangers placed right-handed relief pitchers Cole Winn and Peyton Gray on the injured list Monday at Globe Life Field. Winn is dealing with a rotator cuff strain, while Gray is sidelined due to elbow inflammation. The team filled the roster spots by recalling rookie pitchers Robby Ahlstrom and Ben Peoples from Triple-A. Winn has recorded a 5.63 ERA across 51 games this season, and Gray has posted a 3.93 ERA in 48 appearances. Rangers manager Skip Schumaker stated he does not expect either injury to end the players' seasons. The roster adjustments occur as the club begins its second-to-last homestand of the regular season with a series against the Athletics.
