The Texas Rangers have purchased the contract of pitcher Joe Ross from AAA Round Rock and optioned Luis Curvelo to the same affiliate. This move comes after Curvelo's poor outing, where he allowed three runs in one inning. Ross, previously with the Arizona Diamondbacks, has recently been successful in his last five appearances, totaling 8.2 innings without allowing a run. To make room for Ross on the 40-man roster, the Rangers designated Michel Otanez for assignment due to his struggles with a 6.15 ERA at Round Rock.
