Rangers trade Brett Berard to Canadiens for William Trudeau

The Rangers have traded forward Brett Berard to the Canadiens in exchange for defenseman William Trudeau. Berard, 23, found himself lower on the depth chart last season without recording points in 13 NHL games. He previously scored six goals and made four assists in AHL play before an injury impacted his time on the ice. Trudeau, also 23, had a productive season in the AHL with eight goals and 20 points over 62 games.
