Ransford Gyan scores three goals as Clemson defeats UCF 4-1

Junior Ransford Gyan recorded his first collegiate hat trick to lead the No. 18 Clemson Tigers to a 4-1 road victory against the UCF Knights on Tuesday night in Orlando. Gyan opened the scoring in the 14th minute and added his second goal just six minutes later to establish a 2-0 lead. Cooper Hineline also contributed a goal for Clemson in the first half following an assist from Xander Sevian. UCF narrowed the deficit in the 63rd minute, but Gyan completed his hat trick shortly after on a pass from Johannes Kack to restore the three-goal cushion. Clemson goalkeeper Aleksa Janjic made three saves to secure the result for the Tigers. Clemson, now 3-1, will travel to face Syracuse on Friday, Sept. 4 to open ACC competition.
