Rashid Shaheed expects expanded receiving role for Seahawks in 2026

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed is slated for a larger role in the team's offense during the 2026 season. After being acquired from the Saints during the previous season's trade deadline, Shaheed primarily contributed as a return specialist and recorded 15 receptions for 188 yards. The Seahawks re-signed him this offseason to a three-year contract valued at $51 million. Coaching staff and team leadership expect improved chemistry between Shaheed and quarterback Sam Darnold following a full offseason of training under offensive coordinator Brian Fleury. The adjustment period caused by joining the team mid-season last year previously hampered the timing between the quarterback and his new receiver.
