Rasmus Højlund identifies tactical transition as challenge at Manchester United

Rasmus Højlund describes his transition at Manchester United as a period complicated by changes in team tactics following the arrival of manager Ruben Amorim. In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the striker noted that the squad struggled to adapt to a different playing style after Erik ten Hag departed. Højlund recorded 16 goals in 43 appearances during his first season at the club before seeing his output dip to 10 goals in 52 appearances during his second year. The forward acknowledged that the high transfer fee associated with his initial move from Atalanta increased public scrutiny regarding his performance at Old Trafford. After completing a season-long loan with Napoli, the move was made permanent this summer for a reported €44 million. Højlund is now focused on building consistency at his new club to establish his role as a regular goalscorer.
