Ravens defense faces scrutiny amid injury and penalty issues

The Baltimore Ravens defense is under pressure after four weeks of the season due to penalties and injuries. Baltimore has struggled with penalties, ranking 15th in defensive EPA per play when factoring them in. Opposing offenses have been flagged only nine times against the Ravens, limiting the defense's effectiveness. Despite these challenges, the Ravens' overall defense ranks ninth in penalty-adjusted defensive EPA. Improvement is crucial as they prepare to face the Atlanta Falcons, especially with Lamar Jackson injured and the run defense currently ranked 21st in EPA per rush allowed.
