Ravens place Skylar Thompson on IR, sign Austin Reed as replacement

The Baltimore Ravens placed quarterback Skylar Thompson on injured reserve on August 12, 2026, ending his tenure with the team. Head coach Jesse Minter described Thompson's injury as "something small." The Ravens auditioned four quarterbacks and signed Austin Reed after Thompson established himself as the third-string QB during training camp. Reed previously worked with offensive coordinator Declan Doyle and has experience from training camp with the Bears. The Ravens still have Joey Fagnano as an undrafted rookie QB competing for a spot on the regular-season roster.
