Raw features Lynch, Rollins in tournaments and championship matches tonight

Raw airs tonight (June 8) with a live show emanating from Accor Arena in Paris, France. This is the second episode of Raw during the four week build to Night of Champions, which takes place on June 27. Raw has a special start time of 2 pm ET on Netflix. Becky Lynch has a very strange problem that will cost her Queen of the Ring Becky Lynch is scheduled to compete in an opening round match of the Queen of the Ring tournament on today’s episode of Raw. Her opponents in the 4-way bout are Alexa Bliss, Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, and Chelsea Green. Green and Bliss are the clear underdogs, whereas Morgan and Lynch look like each other’s biggest threats to advancing in the tournament. However, Becky has a very strange problem that may give Liv an advantage, and it’s that nearly all of The Man’s important matches seem to be refereed by Jessika Carr. Becky has repeatedly said Corrupt Carr is out to get her. Whether you believe that’s true or not, the fact that Jessika is publicly mocking Lynch indicates a potential conflict of interest, and should take her out of consideration for officiating any more of Becky’s matches. That Carr ends up being the referee so often for Lynch’s matches can’t be a coincidence even in kayfabe, which raises alarms about GM Adam Pearce’s role in holding Becky down. The probability of Lynch wrestling in three straight Queen of the Ring tournament matches without Carr being the ref seems awfully low, and it will surely bite Becky in the ass at some point this month. The rest of the card Becky’s hot husband Seth Rollins is also booked in opening round action of the King of the Ring tournament today. His 4 way match includes Ricky Saints, Talla Tonga, and Je’Von Evans. Rollins stands out as the clear favorite, given his world championship history in WWE. However, there are no disqualifications in a 4-way match, so there’s really no reason for The Vision or MFT to remain on the sidelines and let the match play out fairly. WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta puts his title on the line today in a singles match against the legendary Rey Mysterio. This looks like a straightforward way to give Penta the rub of beating an all-time great wrestler, but perhaps it will end up being the next example of WWE clinging too hard to the past and cooling off a hot star. Women’s Intercontinental Champion Sol Ruca defends her belt for the first time today in a singles match against Lyra Valkyria. The challenger wasn’t allowed to fight for the belt when Becky was champ, so she jumped at the chance for a title match as soon as The Man dropped the gold. Ruca and Valkyria will also fight each other later this week in an opening round 4-way match in the Queen of the Ring tournament. Oba Femi kicks off today’s episode of Raw.
