Rays select pitcher Brody Hopkins to the active MLB roster

The Tampa Bay Rays officially added pitching prospect Brody Hopkins to their active major league roster on September 12. Hopkins joins the bullpen after previously serving as one of the organization’s top pitching prospects. To accommodate the addition, the club optioned right-hander Alex Cook to the Triple-A level. Additionally, the Rays designated right-hander Michael Grove for assignment to finalize the roster move. The selection provides the team with a new arm in the pen as the season nears its conclusion. Hopkins enters the big leagues as the Rays manage their pitching depth to finish the campaign.
