RB Trey Benson goes unclaimed and reverts to Cardinals' injured reserve

The Arizona Cardinals waived running back Trey Benson with an injury designation. Benson went unclaimed off waivers and has reverted to injured reserve. He has not practiced since before the Cardinals' first preseason game and has struggled with knee issues, missing much of the previous season. Typically, players in this situation may receive an injury settlement before being released from injured reserve. Benson was a promising third-round pick out of Florida State in 2024 but played only 17 games, rushing for 451 yards and one touchdown during his tenure.
