Thibaut Courtois is a nominee for the 2026 Goalkeeper of the Year award, also known as the Yachine Trophy. This recognition comes after a season in which he recorded 17 clean sheets across 45 appearances for Real Madrid. Although the club finished the 2025/26 campaign without a major trophy, Courtois maintained his individual performance level despite a challenging defensive setup. The veteran goalkeeper also participated in the World Cup for the Belgian national team, reaching the quarter-finals. This nomination marks the fourth time in his career that he has been considered for the honor, which he previously won in 2022. He competes for the award against nine other goalkeepers, including Emiliano Martinez, David Raya, and Unai Simon.
