Real Madrid opens disciplinary proceedings against defender Raul Asencio

Real Madrid has initiated formal disciplinary proceedings against Raul Asencio following a driving incident on August 16. The 23-year-old defender was stopped by authorities in southern Gran Canaria for driving under the influence of alcohol. Following the incident, he appeared in a fast-track trial and received a €14,400 fine along with an eight-month suspension of his driving license. The club is currently conducting its own internal investigation to determine if further sanctions or financial penalties are necessary. Asencio has reportedly pledged to Jose Mourinho that he will maintain total focus on his professional career to repair his standing within the squad. This development arrives at a difficult time for the player, as he had already been attempting to secure a role under Mourinho following a summer of uncertain prospects regarding his future at the Santiago Bernabéu.
