Real Madrid optimistic Kylian Mbappe will win Ballon d'Or on Monday

Real Madrid is growing increasingly confident about Kylian Mbappe's chances of winning the Ballon d'Or at the upcoming gala in London on Monday. The club's optimism stems from Mbappe's record-breaking performance in the 2025/26 season, where he was La Liga's top scorer and won the Golden Boot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Despite the team's lack of major titles, Real Madrid believes Mbappe's individual achievements make a compelling case for the award. The club plans to attend the ceremony after previously boycotting the event, following Vinicius Jr.'s defeat in 2024. The competitiveness will be heightened as Barcelona's Lamine Yamal and Bayern Munich's Harry Kane are also strong contenders.
