Real Madrid targets Rodri as Manchester City renewal talks falter
Summary

Real Madrid has started efforts to sign midfielder Rodri from Manchester City as renewal discussions have stalled. Despite no official negotiations reported, Madrid is confident an agreement can be reached before the summer transfer window closes. Madrid's change in strategy comes following Rodri's impressive performance at the FIFA World Cup, where he captained Spain to victory. Rodri enters the final year of his contract with City and has shown little interest in extending. The shift poses a challenge for Manchester City as they navigate a coaching transition under new manager Enzo Maresca.
