Real Sociedad has reached a verbal agreement to sign Mamadou Sarr from Chelsea on a loan deal for the upcoming season. The 20-year-old defender was initially signed by Chelsea in the summer of 2025 but spent last season on loan at Strasbourg. Following the arrival of manager Xabi Alonso, Sarr was informed he does not feature in Chelsea's plans for the new campaign. Discussions between the two clubs intensified over the last 24 hours, leading to the agreement. The deal is reported to be for one year and will not include an option to buy.
