Record number of athletes set for World Athletics U20 Championships in Eugene

The World Athletics U20 Championships will take place at Hayward Field in Eugene from August 5-9, featuring approximately 1,800 athletes from 147 countries. This marks a record participation, surpassing the previous high of 1,558 competitors from the 2024 meet in Lima, Peru. Among the hopefuls are standout athletes like Gary Card from Jamaica, who leads the men’s 100, and Charity Cherop from Uganda, who is favored in the women's 5,000. Athletes will compete in various sessions with streaming available on Peacock. Key scheduled events will run daily with both morning and evening sessions.
